Friends of the Center Line Library

Perhaps you have noticed recently that there are no bookstores in Center Line or nearby Warren. Look no further! You don't have to go to the mall, just stop in at the Center Line Library's Used Book Store! There are almost 1,000 hardcover books offered, with very low prices ranging from $2 to $25 (if it is signed by the author).

The creative savings in buying a very good condition used book for $2 goes hand in hand with our economy these days. We can be thrifty and still read the best in fiction, mystery or biography. The best of our paperbacks sell for $1.

* REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL LIBRARY PROGRAMS. PLEASE CALL THE LIBRARY AT 586-758-8274 TO REGISTER. Programs are free (except programs marked with a dollar sign). Click the name of the program for description and fee requirements.

Summer Reading Program.  Super sleuths and daring detectives are
invited to join Get a Clue @ Your Library.  The 2008 Summer Reading
program is open to children, teens, and adults.  The program runs from June - July . Registration begins on Monday, in June at the Center Line Public Library.
There is no fee for this program.  More information coming soon.

Story Hour is held at the Library each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Ms.Joy is the story lady and the children listen to stories and participate in craft projects.

FOUNDING FATHERS PROJECT

We are adding stories and pictures rapidly for our local history project.

We are looking to borrow old yearbooks and class pictures so our historian can microfilm them.  They will be returned to you. This will enable them to be made available to our patrons. Do you know of someone who may have graduated in the 1920s, 1930s or 1940s? We want to rescue this history.  Please help.

History and historic pictures of the Center Line area can be seen through the efforts of Mike Grobbel and local historian Wesley E Arnold. See more on Center Line History at: www.centerline.grobbel.org and geocities.com/ourlocalhistory

Center Line historical information includes:
Through the Years – a photographic history of Center Line, MI.
(Photos from the collection of Mr. Wesley Arnold)
Center Line plat maps of 1859, 1875, 1895 and 1916
The village of Center Line in 1932
Just received a History of Center Line and Warren over 100 pages

If you have something to add to the project about your own family, please contact Marjorie Murray at the library by calling 586-758-8274.

Donating Used Books to the Center Line Library?

We accept books in good condition. These are put into circulation or given to the Friends of the Library for the annual book sale. Needed are recent hardcover best-sellers, cookbooks, westerns, science fiction, dictionaries, or children's books.
We are also looking for Center Line area history and/or pictures and Center Line school yearbooks for our archives collection.
Please bring in to the Library during business hours in bag(s) or box(es). A hand cart is available. Thank you for considering a gift to the Center Line Public Library!

DID YOU KNOW?

Monetary donations to the library are tax deductible! Library materials purchased with your donations are a great way to commemorate a special event, such as the birth of a child, a wedding, or an anniversary. We put a plaquet in every book with the name of the person honored, and the name of the person who made the donation. It's a great way to celebrate a first library card too!

Expressing your wishes and needs will provide us with information how to serve you better. Take few seconds of your time, print and fill out this survey form and return it to us. We appreciate that! Thank you! <click here>
