ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
CITY OF CENTER LINE, MICHIGAN
This team member will be responsible for directing, coordinating and administering economic
development efforts, including targeting new development efforts, such as new business;
retaining and expanding existing businesses; creation and implementation of market studies;
community promotion; special event planning; serving as technical advisor to the City
Manager/Clerk/DDA Director on economic development matters; develop comprehensive
recommendations for management use; and applying for and administering grants and funds,
including CDBG; and execution of the City's economic development goals to redevelop a quality,
diverse and sustainable tax base, city-wide with a primary focus on the Downtown Development
District and specifically the City Center Redevelopment District located on Van Dyke Avenue (M-
53). The position will work with city leaders, employees and community partners integrating
economic, community resource, and land use programs into a viable working program to
improve the physical and economic climate of the City of Center Line.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration Public Administration, Economic
Development, or a related field and a minimum two years related experience. Certification as a
Certified Economic Developers (CEcDs) by the IEDC is highly desirable. Knowledge of the
resources within Macomb County, State of Michigan, and the metropolitan-Detroit regional
efforts plus knowledge and experience with sales relationship management software and handson
expertise in social media, electronic communication, and real estate databases.
Salary: $48,800 - $64,000 with a comprehensive benefit package.
