FRIENDS OF THE CENTER LINE LIBRARY
In 1992, at the invitation of the late Anne Cross, Library Director at that time, interested residents of Center Line and Warren held several meetings planning the formation of the Friends of the Library. We were chartered in April of 1993 as a non-profit organization and have continued to support the Library with funds not available in the budget for almost 30 years.
Our goal has always been to promote the library as one of the city’s best assets. Through community support with membership dues, we have been able to sponsor programs for children and adults, raising funds with book sales and bake sales, presenting guest speakers and authors, the most famous of whom was Elmore Leonard, and producing two cookbooks. Our most profitable fundraiser is the annual Cookie Walk held at the Recreation Dept. during the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME. BE AN ACTIVE PART OF YOUR COMMUNITY.
